PLANT SIZES - Here's what to expect

RC (Bare-Root)
A rooted cutting will be 4-8” tall with only 1-2 branches and a young root system. These are ready to be potted into starter pots and need to be grown larger before planting in the ground. This is an economical option if you need a lot of plants and/or prefer to grow them yourself.

#1 (Bare-Root)
A #1 plant is going to be a 1 year old cutting that has been grown out for 1 season. These will have several branches and be ready to pot up into 1 gallon pots for spring sales. These can go directly in the garden but need to be well watered while they get established.

#2 (Bare-Root)
A #2 size plant is going to be a 2 year old plant that is ready to go into 2 or 3 gallon pots for spring sales .These plants will have a nice branch structure and a solid root system. This is the best size to plant directly in the garden.

3” Pot
3” square pots are a small plant with a nice root system and will be about 1 year old. This size is an economical way to add many new plants to your garden. Actual plant size will vary depending on species and season. These are young plants so be sure to keep well watered while they adapt to their new home.

Gallon Pot
This will be grown in a trade gallon pot, the next step up after the 3” pot, and will have a much more robust root system and a more substantial plant size. The actual size will still vary based on plant type and season. This is an excellent size plant to plant in your garden.
