Carolina Allspice (Calycanthus floridus)
A unique native shrub with fragrant, reddish-brown, magnolia-like flowers that bloom in late spring to early summer. The sweet, spicy scent and glossy green foliage make it a standout in the landscape. Grows 6–9 ft. tall and 6–12 ft. wide. Zones 4–9.
